The Ski Jumping portion of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics is over but no one can say that it has been a disappointment. The action was hot and heavy on the large and small hills for the aerial ski jumping competition and most eyes were looking at the freestyle ski jumping where an American made history.
When it comes to the large and small ramp for aerial ski jumping, the Europeans and Asians have by far led the field. They done it again at Vancouver. Another big thing about this is that alot of these countries have brought young jumpers to the Games and grooming them for bigger and better things.
In freestyle, the biggest story was Speedy Peterson from the United States and him landing his vaunted trick ‘The Hurricane’. Peterson landed this awesome trick for the first time by anyone in history and it was enough for him to capture the silver medal. The Boise, Idaho native was able to do five twists and three somersaults to launch himself into the history books.
Another big plus of the Winter Olympics ski jumping this year has been the expert analysis by NBC and former Olympic gold medalist Johnny Moseley. There have been alot of rave reviews about his coverage during this years’ Games.

The Prestige of Skiing
